Day 350

The laughing ruins
Not knowing the collapse
Of the societal, communal mind
On the outside:

The remainder of the final joke
Once told before the cannons
Blazed like a supernova
And man dropped like flies
Before the the might of the stars.

Each twinkling like
The candles on a warm summer night
As the pillars and roof fell
The land fell
And soon the conquerors

Brought to their knees
Begging for mercy
They never gave

Soon all witnesses forgotten
But the stars that witness all
And the old temple
That will never know that it
Again witnesses what it just witnessed.
